I’ve spent my career speaking to the public about China’s history and its relations with the West. I’m an academic by training and spend lots of time speaking at universities, but I also love and value speaking at other venues ranging from high school students, to professionals, book clubs, congressional staffers and retirement communities.

I’m now scheduling events to talk about Champions Day and other aspects about the complex, but fascinating, history that gave rise to the Shanghai Race Club and the word it was part of.
